This is an acrylic panel which is the first part of a diptych painting I am doing for the Otter Falls Resort, located in the Whiteshell Park in Manitoba Canada.

The water in the scene is the Winnipeg River, and the islands are the view from the dock in the nearby campground.

It is 35.5 x 71 cm (14 x 28 in) done on a Gesso prepared Masonite board.

Thank you so much for saying so. :D That is one of two panels I am doing of that scene, here is a link to a WIP of the other one [link] It is actually a river that is narrow enough at points to have lakes along it. Thank you also for the :+fav: of it, and for the :+devwatch: as well. :-)

Looks like a storm is coming... or leaving. I just love little islands like this, where the trees grow haphazardly.

Well it is the first of two panels and the clouds are moving through quickly bringing rain and then sun and then rain again. It's not quite the beauty of a place like Georgian Bay, but still I love the Canadian Shield country.
